Morgan Ashurst scoops three top national construction awards for excellence

Three construction professionals from Morgan Sindall’s construction business Morgan Ashurst have scooped top national awards and a further four were shortlisted for outstanding work in the annual Construction Manager of the Year Awards organised by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).

Morgan Ashurst won more awards than any other construction company in this year’s competition which celebrates excellence in the construction industry.

Project manager David Wilson was named national Construction Manager of the Year for tackling a series of complex construction and logistical challenges to build the new award-winning De Grey Court building for York St John University in York. He was also presented with the gold award in the New Build and Refurbishment Projects £7-£10 million category for the same project.

Paul Heald, senior contracts manager, received a silver award in the PFI Projects category for the way he delivered a £35 million scheme to build replacement schools for Buile Hill and Harrop Fold School in Worsley, Manchester.

Finally, project manager Nick Hilton took silver in the New Build / Refurbishment Projects £10-£15 million category for his work on the Exemplar Building at Nottingham Science Park in Beeston.

The trio received their awards from television newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky at a ceremony held at the Marriott Grosvenor House in London.
