From trainee surveyor to commercial director

Background

Oriyomi gained an engineering degree from the University of Lagos, Nigeria, followed by an MSc in structural design from Imperial College London. She is currently enrolled on Morgan Est's graduate training scheme.

Current employment

Oriyomi is working for Morgan Sindall's infrastructure services business, Morgan Est. She's involved with a £14.6 million re-modelling scheme to double the size of Shepherd's Bush (Central Line) underground station ticket hall.

“I wanted to work for Morgan Est because I was fascinated by the tunnelling projects the firm is known for - such as the new T5 terminal at Heathrow Airport and the upgrade work they are doing at King's Cross Station. As for my future plans: I'm looking forward to gaining my Chartership with the Institution of Civil Engineers in the next couple of years. I'm gaining as much on-site experience as I can and hope one day to become a consultant.”
